About Me
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated with the doughnut shop. The way the doughnuts are displayed lets you know immediately if your favorite is sold out for the day of if you got there in time to have your top pick. Do you know what is never sold out? The old-fashion plain doughnut. Turns out this doughnut is pretty good too-it’s just not presented as well as the others, so it sits on the shelf. We don’t want this to happen with your college application, I’m excited to work with high school families to help you uncover and present your story in a way that will make your college application stand out. My career in education began over 30 years ago. After earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, I spent nearly two decades in various K–12 teaching roles. During this time, I started a family and continued to refine my teaching skills. Recognizing each student’s individual strengths, interests and goals allowed me to connect with them in meaningful ways. By gaining their trust and building a sense of camaraderie, students felt heard, understood and supported- empowering them to reach their full potential. In 2015, I began working at Boston University as a learning specialist, focusing on student- athlete success. While working with high-achieving students and Division I athletes, I completed a Master’s in Higher Education Administration. This combination of classroom learning and student-facing engagement gave me a unique perspective on the larger landscape of higher education- how institutional priorities are set, admissions decisions are made, the skills students need to thrive, and how campus culture shapes the college experience. Having guided my own children through the college application journey three times in recent years, I understand firsthand how overwhelming the process can be for families. My approach blends expert knowledge of admissions with a personalized strategy tailored to each student's strengths and aspirations. I confidently guide families through the process, ensuring they receive expert advice and present a well-crafted application. I am look forward to getting started with your family!
TESTIMONIALS
What Past Students & Parents Are Saying...
Sarah Hope, BU
"I was so fortunate to have Heather as my academic advisor while I was a student-athlete at Boston University. She cared so much about me and my growth as a student and as a person that I can genuinely say that relationships like these were the reason I had such an incredible college experience. Heather truly has the perfect blend of caring for each students' individual needs as well as honesty which I believe is critical for college student success."

"Throughout my time in high school, I had never had a positive interaction with an academic advisor. Within my school, I had talked to numerous guidance and college/career counselors, and all of my interactions led to more frustration, confusion, and questions. Even when hiring private advisors, I never received the care, attention, and assistance Heather provides. I first met her during an information session in the Spring of my Senior year of high school, after my acceptance to Boston University. Me and my mother, along with other families, threw a million questions at her, and she responded patiently to each and every single one. Heather was a huge part of the reason that I chose Boston University and has played an integral role in my success here ever since. She has helped me and numerous other students with our academic careers and has worked overtime to create a deeper, more genuine connection with each of us. I am very lucky to have her as my counselor."
Jenn, Parent of Graduate
"Heather was instrumental in helping my son, Matthew, make a thoughtful decision between two very different colleges. Matthew was able to discuss the reasons he wanted to attend each school, and Heather was able to guide him with what his priorities were in a school. I am incredibly grateful for her support and highly recommend Heather to a family navigating this process."
Jonathan, Parent of Student
We are incredibly grateful for Heather's guidance in helping our daughter, Emily, with her college essay. Emily came home from her session with Heather not only excited about her essay topic but also with a clear plan in place. Heather's expertise and supportive approach took away all the stress and anxiety Emily had been feeling about the essay. We couldn't be happier with the positive impact Heather has had on Emily's college application process. Thank you, Heather, for making this journey so much smoother for our family!
